Information about Fun Activities

Since we talked a little about some of the possible fun activities, I have added some links regarding that. They are at the bottom left on the links page.  One is regarding the Taste of Lincoln Avenue.  It looks like in addition to food vendors, there are crafts and several venues with live music.  It sounds like a small donation is requested, but the entire event is a fund-raiser to help the local neighborhood fund schools and other area organizations.

The other link is for Broadway Shows playing in Chicago.  There are several shows with Saturday and Sunday early afternoon matinees (West Side Story, Beauty & The Beast and Peter Pan) that would probably work if there is interest in that.

  1. Sounds like fun! I both really love the musicals West Side Story and Beauty and the Beast! I know that me and Emily would love to go to one. Also, the ticket sales in advance have a special for groups of 15 of more right now. I can't wait for Chicago!
    Lots of love,

  2. Good thinking Rachel about the group rate, however, I am not sure that everyone in the group is interested in going to a show. We know you and Emily are interested and if others are, it would probably be a good idea to think about getting tickets ahead of time. Is there an adult who is interested in going to a show who would like to organize this if enough are interested?

  5. In case anyone from Team A is doing any shopping, I got the following from Luther Hospital and the Dollar Store to send along:

    110 zipper seal sandwich bags
1 roll plastic wrap for wraps or larger sandwiches
30 each of mustard, mayo and ranch dressing packets

They seemed like items that would be a better value purchased ahead and not too bulky to pack.

I would not really care to go to a show, but would love to check out these options if anyone is interested:

    Shedd Aquarium

(Tickets would be a little less than for a show, and are as cheap as $8 for the basic pass.)

    Lincoln Park Zoo (FREE)

    Looking forward to seeing you!
